Jubilee Scorecard

Remember the good old days when Uncle Dan was at the helm?Good,at best, they were.Good here was relative cause they are hordes outta there who dread at the thought of that man.

Its' been a whooping twelve years since we saw the last of Uncle Dan at the apex.So far,we've got troubles and tribulations pouring from all corners.Terrorism is of no exception.Daily,I've become used to seeing boards being converted into splinters in a rubble. As if its not enough, the assailants are walking their asses free, casting into mockery a country's security apparatus.

Jubilee administration is having its more than enough share of problems. And the have escalated a notch higher, making the citizenry panic. The recent happenings within the  jubilee mantle is making waves, and the two principals should be bracing themselves for yet another tumultuous ride. The Mount Kenya mafia,I'd fondly call the sick man of yester years came calling again. As curtains closed for yet another casualty of rapid changes within government institutions,as Waiguru termed it,yet another saw green and grim to embellish in state rides.
Dissent and political insolence towards the government is vast at the rift. Many argue that Mr. Ruto was handed a raw deal, the justification being the recent acts of devolution CS.Others have no qualms  about it.But as the political horizon closes in,the most astute of politicians and the game changers are likely to reap big.The youths are likely to take a shot into politics and suppose tribal cards won't be exchanged then the country is at pole position to experience unique leadership.

Notably, today's youth is like a time bomb, ready to explode. The establishment of Uwezo fund was an initiative to offset this dire problem. To achieve the objective for which it was set up for, the government must quickly combat the problem of information asymmetry to enable every other youth and less privileged persons know what is necessary to access the fund. The vibrancy of the youths about the country should be tapped into productive ventures that will not only boost growth in the economy but also bring to an end social evils such as crime and prostitution.

Kenya's political colossus,as Luopeans would call him jetted from the states to a rapturous and cordial welcome at Uhuru park.Need for dialogue was his preamble. But in a quick rejoinder,Mr Ruto dismissed the former premiere remarks as uncalled for and out of context, only for Mr Kenyatta to affirm to the former's.That they'd have a chat over a cup of tea at state house.Good call. The oppositions' threat to impeach the president and his deputy will not augur well to most Kenyans even though the two have not walked the talk like they had promised at their swearing in ceremony the year before.Their scorecard is not up to the billing yet.Well.time is running out for them

Honestly,I expect my president to clear up the mess he created and the mess created by his predecessors.I expect to see a terrorist-free Kenya,a safe haven for people of all walks to rest their heads on and also a corruption free country as well.My expectations are high-will you make me proud? Before I get going, tell those friends of ours from the East(the Chinese) that's its gonna be 'Hands off our jumbos'...........or we face west!
Pens down.Lets meet here in my next post

An Odious Debt

It was one of those sully days in the summer when it happened. It had been rainy all morning and the sun was yet to shoot itself out of the clouds. Outside, it was hectic. The grass had been mowed to perfection and some trees had started to fruit. Some birds, chirping into the noontide, remained perched atop of a rowan tree in its effervescent grace. He waited with baited breath. In the minute that followed, he was beginning to grow tired of his heart pounding soundly. He felt as though something ominous was about to unfold. ''Yes, I did it. Once'' All this time, he had remained seated and pregnant with anticipation. Now, he couldn't. A certain feeling of consternation creeped in and he just stared at the message in disbelief. He knew it was always coming to that, and he somehow convinced himself that it wasn't happening. He had always stood on business. He had been confident his past misgivings had been forgiven. His marriage had been one big leap of fait...

Kenyan Politicians in a Classroom Context

In matters Kenyan politics, Tinga is that brusque know-it-all bully in the school. Walks around with unkempt hair, rarely tucks in his shirt, hits out at everybody at the slightest or no provocation and never apologizes. He is, however, loved by his classroom majority for his indecent jokes about the school administration and for his enviable football skills. Everybody agrees he is an excellent footballer despite the fact that he has scored blanks in virtually all major interclass competitions. He has been the de facto captain and the “ever-fit” most reliable striker for his class but has never led them to a single trophy. He has shielded himself from ridicule by a surrounding himself with hangers on that form the school’s (read Tinga’s ) cheering squad. His teammates, since form one, have accused him of selfishness and gross violations of team ethics. He lacks the ability to work in a team, bosses everyone around and some even accuse him of using voodoo in the games. Now in for...

Babaa, Mama & I

He passed away on the wee hours of July, the 3rd. Shortly before 4 am or 5 am, or maybe before 9.54 am when I called and he wasn't answering. No one knows the exact time his strength left him or the time his spirit flashed away. He was in high spirits shortly before he retired to bed after watching a game of football. No one knew that was the last time they'd see him alive and unwell. And chained to a wheeler. And groaning in pain.    He had been taken to MTRH the day before his passing for a CT scan, and a MIR scan and a host of other tests that would unravel the malady that had tormented him for years. He was keen to beat it, wrestle it and cast into damnation a condition that had confined him to a wheelchair.    He was in high spirits on their way back after a day with specialists at the Eldoret Hospital. He had been inoculated with tranquilizers and anesthesia. Mostly the extracts from his frame, and torso was rudimentary. His bones had lost their mojo a...
